Die Birmaanse kyat is die amptelike geldeenheid van Burma, maar Amerikaanse dollars word algemeen aanvaar indien dit in 'n puik toestand is. Een Birmaanse kyat bestaan uit 100 pyas. Birmaanse munte kom voor in 1, 5, 10, 50 en 100 kyat. Banknote word uitgereik in 50 pyas asook 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000 en 10 000 Birmaanse kyat.
